C. J. Greene Sr., son Rob, daughter Annie and dog Rex (Circa 1907)

If you ever wanted to stay in an authentic Victorian house then you are in luck!

As their last home, Charles and Annie Greene, built their Victorian home at the turn of the century. Mr. Greene was a civil war veteran that lived here until his death in 1934 and the widowed Mrs. Greene lived out her remaining years in the house.

Their oldest daughter, Miss Jessie Greene was a Natchitoches schoolteacher and lived here until her death in 1965. The house saw some bleak years as ownership changed hands several times (including a fraternity house!)

The Greene house has been brought back to it’s original grandeur.  The exterior has the original virgin cypress shiplap that was hidden under 50 years of asbestos siding.   The beautiful heart of pine floors were all here, but buried under years of carpet and vinyl, also here was the original millwork and 2 sets of gorgeous 10’ pocket doors. The 11’ original beaded board ceilings were revealed under modern ceiling tiles.
